The Westman Islands - A group of 15 islands located south of the country (SE of Reykjavík).

Getting there:

Flight: There is a regular flight from Reykjavík which takes about 10-15 minutes.

Ferry: The ferry Herjólfur leaves Vestmanneyjar at 08:00 AM and Þorlákshöfn [60 min drive from Reykjavík] every working day (and Saturdays) at 12:00 AM. On Friday and Sunday the ferry leaves Vestmannaeyjar at 15:30 and Þorlákshöfn at 19:00. During June and July there are extra cruises at the same hours.
Herjólfur has facilities for conferences and parties, television-halls, a playground for children and a storage space for 70 cars. The cruise takes around 2 and a half hours.
